Even though spring is still five weeks away, it is time to start planning your annual pilgrimage to ArrowCreek Country Club for the 2014 MBM GT Friday, July 18, 2014 . You will find attached this year's entry/sponsorship form for your use in making your arrangements.

For only the second time in our 14 year run, we will be playing the upper, private course: "The Challenge". This is a classic links style course where the only two holes close to the clubhouse are numbers 1 and 18. The format will remain the same, four team scrambles (choose best shot of your four teammates and play the next shot from there) with a shotgun start at 9 AM. We will continue the putting contest, and as we did before when we played the Challenge, it will count as a scoring hole. Playing the putting green is mandatory between holes 18 and 1, however you don't have to pay to play it. Only those people interested in the first pick of all the raffle prizes will be asked to pay the $10 entry fee for the putting contest. Remember all the extra money we raise from the putting contest, ticket sales, mulligans and putting tape goes to the UNR civil engineering students so be generous and start saving your allowances.

More information will be forthcoming, but for the short term, mark your calendars and start assembling your teams. Hope to see you all there. (Yes, this means those of you hiding in Las Vegas and Sacramento)

MICHAEL KOIZUMI APWA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Every year the Nevada Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) awards scholarships to deserving students from Southern Nevada. The scholarship amounts are one for $1,000 and one for $2,000. Southern Nevada scholarships will be awarded at the APWA Spring Conference held in April 2014. In order for the Board, through the Scholarship Committee, to make the best selection of scholarship recipients, we are encouraging APWA members to nominate potential candidates; however, APWA board member nominations are not required. The submittal deadline for the Spring scholarships is April 14, 2014.
