2022 Fall Conference Nominations

2022 Nevada Chapter Project of the Year Awards

(All Costs and Project Type Categories)

The Nevada Chapter of the American Public Works Association supports and recognizes the special achievements of public or quasi-public agencies engaged in the construction of Nevada public works projects. One such recognition is the selection of the PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARDS at the APWA Nevada Chapter Fall Conference.

Interested agencies or their representatives are asked to nominate (by completing the attached nomination form) one or more projects that were substantially completed in calendar year 2020. Substantial completion for the project shall be deemed to be the point at which the project can be safely and effectively used by the public without delays, disruption, or other impediments.

The Project of the Year Awards will be based on the information submitted as part of the nomination process including a not-to-exceed five-page summary addressing the evaluation criteria. The nominated projects will be evaluated on the basis of: use of good construction management techniques, safety performance, community relations, protection of the environment, unusual accomplishments under adverse conditions, additional conditions of importance (for example, quality control efforts, value engineering, innovations applied, etc.), and sustainability. The nominator will have the opportunity to provide a brief presentation during a Thursday afternoon session on September 29th.

The winning projects will receive a personalized plaque, which will be presented to the responsible agency as soon as practicable after the close of the conference.

In order to nominate a project, please complete the nomination form as well as a five-page summary of the evaluation criteria with the project’s differentiators. This summary can be used as a basis for the formal presentation.
