APWA Nevada Chapter Annual Awards Program


The Nevada Chapter Awards Program offers individual awards of merit at the state level for the Harry S. Swearingen Award for Outstanding Member of the Year, the Crystal Briscoe "Spitfire" Award for Outstanding Young Professional Member of the Year, and the Robert Broadbent Distinguished Service Award that parallel the National Awards Program. The Chapter also awards Project of the Year recognition at the Spring and Fall Conference. 

Individual Awards of Merit

Harry S. Swearingen Award for Outstanding Member of the Year:

This award recognizes outstanding individual achievement and excellence in service to APWA through chapter activity and achievement in support of APWA's strategic plan, goals and objectives, as well as outstanding service to APWA as a public or private sector member at the chapter level. HARRY S. Crystal Briscoe "Spitfire" Award for Outstanding Young Professional Member of the Year:

This award recognizes outstanding individual achievement and excellence in service to APWA by a Young Professional (YP) under the age of 35 through chapter activity and achievement in support of APWA’s strategic plan, goals and objectives, as well as outstanding service to APWA as a public or private sector member of the Nevada chapter. CRYSTAL BRISCOE AWARD - NOMINATION FORM

Robert Broadbent Distinguished Service Award 

This award recognizes public works leaders who are also leaders in their community and encourages public works professionals to become active leaders.  This award encourages public trust in public works professionals by recognizing outstanding community leadership.  ROBERT BROADBENT AWARD - NOMINATION FORM

National Awards

The National APWA Awards Program offers awards in the categories of Professional, Members, Top Ten Public Works Leaders of the year, Public Works Project of the Year and the Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence (PACE).  Many of these awards are made only at the national level in recognition of outstanding individual achievement.  A detailed listing of these awards with award guidelines and nomination forms are available on the national APWA website:  http://www.apwa.net/awards.

Nevada Project of the Year Awards (Chapter Level)

Nominations for Project of the Year Awards are now being accepted as part of the ReNVision Virtual Conference. Project of the Year Awards will be announced at a special AFTER DARK event on November 10th. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT OF THEY YEAR NOMINATION IS OCTOBER 15th.
